What is Photo Services?
Photo Services is the ASUPS photography program. We satisfy all the photography needs of ASUPS, including The Trail and Tamanawas (the school newspaper and yearbook).
Who can be a part of Photo Services?
Anyone can apply to be in the Photo Services Core Staff. Prior experience in photojournalism is not necessary (although it does help), and we try and hire a well-rounded and fun staff.
How can I join?
Stop by our table at LogJam, or email us at photoservices@ups.edu for more info. Applications will be available shortly.
Do I need to own a camera to be a part of Photo Services?
No, we provide all the necessary equipment to perform all the assignments.
What are the benefits
Photo Services Core Staff are compensated for all assignments and printed photos. Weekly prints of The Trail are a great place to see your work!
Does Photo Services do other photography related things, apart from taking pictures for the The Trail?
Hopefully, yes. Ensuring that the newspaper and yearbook have photos is our core mission, but we would certainly like to enable other photography related activities on campus as well. In past years, there have been darkroom scavenger hunts, photo contests and photography trips. If you have an idea or would like to organize a photo activity, email
photoservices@ups.edu to get your idea off the ground!
