The Monument in Battery Park
Brandon Lueken
Flash
bulbs go off, tourists
capturing
that time they traversed New York
and saw the crumpled tower top,
a relic
cast off from the sky
now
resting in memoriam
to that shocking day when no
hero,
no Superman, saved
innocents
plunging to mother earth, with
arms opened in a loving embrace.
