FAQ

What is Crosscurrents?
Crosscurrents is UPS's student literary and art magazine. It was established in 1958 and has traditionally put out at least 1 magazine per school year.

How long can my work be?
The loose limit is 2800 words (about 7 pages). This is a lax limit.

How do I submit my work?
Email a readable file format to ccr@ups.edu.  Make sure to include your name and the title of the piece in the filename. Include the following in your email:
1. Your name
2. Title of submission(s)
3. Contact phone number

At what resolution should my visual work be?
300 DPI works best.

Who determines which works are selected?
Our staff of 8 student head editors and over 15 submissions editors go over each piece and determine its inclusion.

Is there a limit to how many pieces I can submit?
You may submit as many pieces as you like, however, we can only publish one to two of your works in any given production.

Is there a particular type of work you are looking for?
Absolutely not! Submit all kinds of work, anything conceivably in a literary/arts magazine.

Are going to be used for anything besides this publication?
No! Crosscurrents will use your works for the magazine/website alone. You will retain all rights to your work. However, Crosscurrents may ask to use your work to help promote the magazine.

Can UPS alumni submit?
Yes, UPS alum are welcome to submit to Crosscurrents, but current students do take precedence.

Can contributors from outside UPS submit?
I'm sorry but we cannot, at this time, accept contributions from those not directly involved with UPS.

My file is too big to send via email, or I have a CD of my work. What do I do?
Drop a CD off at the Crosscurrents office located in the basement of the Media House (13th St. and Alder). Go around back and down the steps. Email ccr@ups.edu if you have any trouble finding us.

Email ccr@ups.edu with any further questions.
