Phi Eta Sigma
Phi Eta Sigma is a national academic honor society recognizing freshman year achievement. Founded in 1923 at the University of Illinois, PES is the nation’s oldest and largest honor society for first-year college and university students in all disciplines. There are today over 350 active chapters of PES across the U.S. The chapter at the University of Puget Sound was founded in the spring of 2006, and continues to actively recruit academically successful students. The three Greek words appearing on our crest form the motto of the organization: “Knowledge is Power.”
