About B-GLAD
B-GLAD is the University of Puget Sound's Queer/Straight alliance. We work to make the campus a safe and accepting place for all people regardless of their sexual orientation or perceived sexual orientation. For the most part, B-GLAD
is a political and social club. We welcome all who are interested, regardless of sexual orientation or identifying orientation.

What to expect
The first few minutes of the B-GLAD meetings are generally spent catching
up on the week and chit-chatting and whatnot. Once enough people have trickled
in (normally at 5 or 10 minutes past the
hour) we start with introductions .
We try to mix things up a bit, so in addition to the
standard
introduction-type stuff (name, year, major) we'll add something fun like having
people say
their favorite toothpaste or what color underwear they are wearing or
something like that.
Once introductions are out of the way we plow through all the business-type
stuff--primarily event
planning. We also receive updates from representatives to
the Diversity Center Governing Council and
other organizations B-GLAD members
are involved with.
At the end of meetings we leave
time to have a short discussion about a topic
which was decided the week before. The discussion topics
can range from, "Where
are all the queers at UPS?" to "What responsibility do companies
who advertise
in queer media have to the queer community?" Although members of B-GLAD may
share some similar beliefs, we tend not to agree about everything and take
advantage of the
discussions to learn from each other.
